Comment
"You presented a series of portrait photographs depicting young Chinese female students currently studying in Edinburgh. The subjects all adopted a similar pose, seated on their bed. Technically they are excellent photographs, well lit, sharp and carefully composed. The series of photographs created a great deal of discussion about what they represented, the subjects were situated in the fairly anonymous surroundings of a student hall of residence. Some saw them as vulnerable, others as dignified, what is undeniable is that the photographs had a powerful effect on the viewers allowing us to look into their private world."
